What is KCO?

KCO is an overnight camp for kids 7-12 years of age. It is a major Uniting Church SA event attracting several thousand campers. KCO aims to assist kids to explore faith through their own discovery, encouraging sharing & relationships with their peers. At KCO kids enjoy a wide range of performances, activities, games, worship & music, based around a central theme. Often the theme aims to teach the campers about Jesus' life & teachings, in a manner that is understandable, appropriate to their context &, of course, incredibly fun.

2010 Theme: KCOnia United!

Our theme this year is “KCOnia United”. Fly to KCOnia United and discover a universe of faith, fun and friendship. Celebrate community united under the cross of Jesus. Experience life together as God’s people, encouraging and serving others.

2010 New Venue:

KCO 2010 will be held at the Barossa Valley Tourist Park.

It is situated 70 km north of Adelaide, South Australia. A short 1 hour drive finds you at Nuriootpa right in the heart of the Australia's famous Barossa Valley.

We feel God led us to this venue because…

  • It offers huge ovals in the centre of the campsite so everyone is close to the action,
  • It is a bush setting, where kids can experience real camping,
  • There is load of space to make a big mess,
  • There are cabins* spread through the campsite near the powered site allowing many groups to have their camp kitchen in the luxury of a cabin while still camping (not to mention a few comfy beds for the leaders!), and
  • There is room to grow and invite more people to the fun.

*Please place all of your bookings for KCO 2010 through the events office.
